What is Hot Stamping Foil?
Hot Stamping Foil is a type of film for creating a decorated sheet which has been widely used on packages and prints to enhance the visual appeal by giving a sense of prestige, luxury and elegance.
Hot stamping foil uses PET film as a based foil, coating with release layer, color layer, a metallic layer, and the adhesive layer.
The polyester carrier, PET, is the supporter of other coatings. Upon application of heater &/or pressure, release layer allows other layers to release from the PET carrier to the surface of the substrate.
Lacquer or color coat has two functions: carriers the color tint in the form of pigments or dye, and protects metallic layer on the substrate so that it will not be oxidized. The fourth layer, metallic layer provides the reflective qualities and opacity desired in metallic foils. Adhesive coat serves to bond the foil to the substrate being stamped. This determines the printability on different substrates.
In other words, we choose different adhesive coatings according to the substrate material.
Where is Hot Stamping Foil applied to?
Usually it widely applied to Textile and Garments, for example, T-Shirt words printing, Pictures printing, it is available, no matter the stamping area big or small.
Package and Shipping
Usually, 10rolls of standard size:640mm*120m hot stamping foil in a box, the box size is 65*35*15cm, then several boxes be packed in a pallet.
